Thanks for the great distro!

I wanted to stop by and share my appreciation for Linux Mint 2.2.

It does all the things I want on my home desktop PC, without ever having to enter text commands.

- Option to boot Live CD or install to HD
- Automatically mounts NTFS drives, linked from the desktop
- Automatically configures network settings
- Able to access SMB shared folders on other Windows PCs in my network
- No user management required
- Plays all the audio and video codecs I've thrown at it (video: Xvid, Divx, & H264 in AVI/OGM/MKV, audio: AC3, AAC, MP3, OGG, FLAC.. even WMA)
- Comes with staple items like OpenOffice, FireFox
- Easy software installs/package management
- Good lookin' desktop
- Stable (no problems so far, anyway)

After trying most of the big-name distros.. this is the one that "just works". I'm sure that little things like mounting a hard drive and installing codecs are probably easy once you know Linux.. but it doesn't seem easy to a newb. I'm not interested in learning cryptic shell commands at this point, and its frustrating that the other distros require that in order to do basic things like accessing my NTFS hard drives and playing audio/video.

Thanks again. I'll be recommending Mint to friends and family!
