Oldest Linux Mint user?
Hi everyone and season's greetings from Sydney Australia
Not using Linux Mint myself yet but my dad is. He turned 100 in September 2015, a veteran of World War 2 (RAAF Radar, SW Pacific), and later IBM and Burroughs mainframes. He tried Puppy Linux first and after playing with that for a while was keen to install Linux Mint. We installed it together as dual boot on his old Windows XP PCin June 2015. He continues to be an enthusiastic Mint user and logs on most days. He orders his groceries and pays his bills using Firefox, and sends and receives his emails in Tbird. We were wondering if there was an older Mint user out there?

Re: Oldest Linux Mint user?
I'm gonna guess that your father takes the prize.

He has to be the oldest! I'm a mere 84+ and hope to get to the magic ton

I feel like the oldest, does that count?
Seriously, I think that is awesome about your father, my mom is 80, and she is using Linux Mint also.

Re: Oldest Linux Mint user?
The older one has got me beat by a lot. I will be only 75 next April. Still dating, bicycle riding and dancing.

Re: Oldest Linux Mint user?
Congratulations to your Father. 100 is a milestone and he must be the oldest Mint user.
Re: Oldest Linux Mint user?
My guess would be: the person mentioned in the original post.
If your issue is solved, kindly indicate that by editing the first post in the topic, and adding [SOLVED] to the title. Thanks!

That's the problem. No one was mentioned in the OP.M0em wrote:My guess would be: the person mentioned in the original post.

Mmm ... I see one page of five posts. The first post states:
At 100 yrs., he may be the oldest Linux user period!

Probably old Linux Mint users here in topic.

Re: Oldest Linux Mint user?
Okay, GreyGeek, I have to admit I'm confused. The original post mentions the OP's father, who is over 100. That's who the (possibly) oldest Mint user is.
Of course a legal name isn't given, but there again, I doubt that few if any of us give out our legal names here. I'm pretty sure your's isn't Grey Geek.
So what part is unclear to you?

I noticed that my display option was set to show only the last month of posts. Changing it to display all posts cleared up my confusion.

That would be confusing, wouldn't it?

At 74 getting confused seems to be a lot easier than it used to be!Fred Barclay wrote: That would be confusing, wouldn't it?
