Linux Mint 17.3 Fan Noise

Post by skjones007 » Sat Jan 30, 2016 11:00 pm

I seem to have more fan noise on Linux Mint 17.3 than on Ubuntu. Anyone have ideas on why this would be or have any information on their computer's fan performance and noise?

Run top and look at your load average. Perhaps you have more/heavier processes running under Mint than you do in Ubuntu?

Because you CPU became hot. So, question should be: "why my CPU became hot in specific cases?" Look what processes gives top CPU loads.
Windows assumes I'm stupid but Linux demands proof of it

Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- copy/paste this command into the terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter)

Press Enter.

Copy/paste the output in your next message.
