Having a problem, Mint devs to blame

Post by ardchoille50 » Fri Feb 05, 2016 2:06 pm

I have a problem here and I believe the Mint developers are to blame.

The house needs cleaning, the sink is full of dishes, my laundry is piling up.. and I've been playing on Mint 17.3 for two days now.

The problem: addiction to a great distro.

Seriously, this distro ROCKS!!!

The Mint Team is a cut above the rest.

One crazy thing in Linux Mint: emptying the trash can is only one click away. Easier than in your house, isn't it?

One click in Mint or one kick in the real world... not such a big difference.

Superb thread title lol.

The Mint devs listen, and their work delivers gradual incremental change rather than disjointing step-changes. As the versions go by, everything seems to get more polished and streamlined in dozens of little ways. For me this is clearest in their iteration of the XFCE desktop, which is now a real thing of beauty..

Dependencies like Housewife or Maid will be installed automatically? It's the normal thing with apt-get, right?

Right but for fresh versions any should add PPAs.

Ya, but you have to watch out for conflicts between the housewife and maid apps, and you certainly don't want to install the mistress app, that will blow your entire system apart and you'll be paying for dependencies for at least 18 years.

Probably future LM Vesta LTS will solve existing problems.

Replace wife with 'cat' and you get the same results.
