tony_at_BigBox wrote: Wed Feb 28, 2018 4:22 am Hi, I have a Ryzen 7 1700x + ASUS Prime x370-pro. I have issues with Mic input sound. I can't get audio recording from my microphone. Audacity does not record at a normal speed, it takes 6 or 7 seconds to register a 1 second sound playable, only with noise.
I am on mint 18.3, with the new 4.13 kernel avaiable.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
Im running the x1800 with the ASUS Prime x370-pro and everything works. Lets compare sound devices on our boards. Below is the output from the lscpi -v command from my system. Post yours too.

I have two sound devices that show up.

Code: Select all

28:00.1 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Device aaf0
Subsystem: PC Partner Limited / Sapphire Technology Device aaf0
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 55
	Memory at fe960000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
	Capabilities: <access denied>
	Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel
	Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel

Code: Select all

2a:00.3 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Device 1457
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device 8733
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 57
	Memory at fe800000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=32K]
	Capabilities: <access denied>
	Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel
	Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel
Its been a while since I built my system and I do not remember if I just stuck a inexpensive sound card in it or not. But that might be an option until the sound driver matures a bit more.

What does the output of 'lspci -v' show on your system?

So the Asus boards work pretty well with Linux? I am still looking to get a linux only machine with my Ryzen 1700.
