Turn off your monitor without wait ...

Post by lisabonne citadel » Tue Oct 24, 2017 5:58 pm

you can do this easily run this command in terminal to test it
sleep 0.5 && xset dpms force off

to make a better result you can put on your applications menu like CinnVIIStarkMenu
to do so... you have to create script file
create a file and rename to turnoff.sh per example
open with your txt editor and copy the xset command
go to file properties and put read and write permissions and enable allow run as executable
now make a launcher with this command
sh /your file directory/turnoff.sh

thats it!!

this utility is very handful when you have your monitor always on like a tv screen.

There's an applet 'turn off monitor' available that does the same.
