The best Screencast for Mint

Post by lisabonne citadel »

Kazam is an old friend but many dont know what power it brings.
With kazam you are able to record your screen as all normal desktop recorders but you can also specify what window or application you want record to. This feature is great for monitoring tools and at the same time you can use your mint for playing games, surfing on web and something else.

I dont know if kazam already is included in official mint repository.
If not, you can go to pkgs.org and transfer and install by this order *just like ubuntu16 / mint 18

1 - gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly-amr
2 - libsidplay1v5
3 - gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly
4 - kazam

I like it, except the old pixelate tray icon

If you like and desire to... record each workspace for anything such CCTV or multi monItoring tool in fullscreen in each workspace YOU CAN create multiple instances of kazam

go to desired workspace and open the terminal
nohup dbus-run-session kazam &

repeat for another workspace

YOU NEED TO HAVE TRAY APPLET ENABLED
