This link "icon" (I can absolutely not identify it, what it shall show) is so tiny, that it took me a complete minute to find it at all. Perhaps to set this in bold could help for visibility. If xenopeek would not had mentioned it, it would most likely never noticed it in years.

Making it bold doesn't make a difference. Enlarging the font of course works but that makes the whole line higher and that doesn't look very good with the rest. I think the hooked arrow is more discoverable. I can easily change it back if there are other opinions.

Using Firefox' Web Developer Tools I just kept editing the element and replacing the straight arrow glyph with glyphs from http://xahlee.info/comp/unicode_arrows.html till I found something that looked really better. We can also use FontAwesome glyps, cheat sheet here https://fontawesome.com/v4.7.0/cheatsheet/. But those are all, erm, too fat and look out of place.

I did spot a possible bug, however. When clicking the Notifications and selecting the older of two links to a topic; one being "Reply from .." and the other being "Quoted by ..", the "Quoted by" link was not automatically marked as read on the linked topic, whereas I'm sure it always was before. I'll look out for a repeat of this.

The notification count also discounted one instead of two, matching this, it's why I noticed.

Moem suggested this icon that is available from FontAwesome . Here's what it looks like in action:

That looks nice, though in creating this response, it's obviously not set up for actual use.

My reason for creating something else is that the "drop" thing (I didn't know that's what it was until Moem herself told me that's what it was) doesn't really mean anything, especially in this context. But I do like the paintbrush, so thank you both for your contributions to that end.

Both should not be relevant here. NS can also block plugins (like Java and more), but again not relevant. The only possibly relevant plugins, that are blockable in NS are IFRAME and FRAME, but both re allowed here.

Regarding the hooked arrow: Even for my old eyes very well visible at the first sight. Perfect, thank you!

I want to enhance the wishlist with another suggestion:

A function, which indicates the topic starter. To give you an impression here is a link to a (random) thread in the German Firefox forum.

Found an extensions that does something similar: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... ic_author/. But this puts "Topic Author" underneath the user's avatar image. I'd prefer what you show on your link, if we were to have something like this. They must have edited the templates or viewtopic.php script or something. I've put it on the list for future consideration.

I just looked at the example screenshot and IMO it looks even better. My only objection is, that the red color for the OP is too similar to the red color for an admin.

On the other side: The position on the right below the avatar will lead to the problem, that the topic starter will not get shown as such in the list of the posts below the edit window. But it would be at least for a start an improvement. I vote for it. That still leaves the option open, that you find another solution at a later time.
