New world's record! boot: < 5 sec, < 100M memory.

My old computer just set two new world* records for booting: time and memory use.

i would install the nvidia drivers. it will add memory usage but it will also relieve your cpu process when using video demanding apps or running movies/tv

but i think DSL(damm small linux got you beat @36MB) RAM usage is top right on that conky. i believe i seen even lower RAM usage which is all fine at idle but anything requiring todays browsers need a graphic driver if you want a smoother youtube and browsing.

I have done so, but not now. It's not worth the hassle, mainly about being able to login to Xfce...but I almost never do that anyway, if I need something from the xfce4 menu I just run xfce4-panel from a terminal, in fluxbox. So maybe I'll try removing lightdm again...

"blame" : 196ms lightdm.service
and uses ?? memory - every measure-method shows a different value - maybe about 1/3 or 1/2 that of an xfce4-terminal.

The difference from the first values is, I think, smaller than the boot-to-boot-difference with lightdm.
