I want Android .apk's to work well
There's a number of Android apps I would use on here, if they worked. Is there like a WINE, for Linux Mint?

Re: I want Android .apk's to work well
I use Android-x86 installed in a VirtualBox VM - you get a full Android install with Playstore support. Although the link below is aimed at MACos users assuming you have got VirtualBox installed and working on Mint the rest of the steps are identical.

There are other options to install Android-x86 on as dual boot or dual boot with QEMU virtualisation - I haven't tried the methods suggested.

Finally there are other options.
https://anbox.io/ - looks promising but bills itself as ALPHA - I tried to get this running once and failed.
http://www.shashlik.io/ - again looks promising. Never tried it - might give it a go.
Chrome with ArcWelder - https://www.addictivetips.com/ubuntu-li ... -on-linux/ - never tried this. Looks like a PITA and from what I've read results are variable.

You should read this (though I wouldn't install a bleeding edge Chrome):

I wouldn't expect miracles though. Many Linux novices think Android is Linux. It isn't ... it uses their own patched version of the 3.10 kernel but it uses a proprietary wrapper. ANd they're dropping the Linux kernel soon. Android isn't actually much more Linux than OS X is.
