Is that even possible? :o

Post by rado84 »

The last time I installed Mint 18.3 on the SSD the startup time was 9744 ms. Now it shows 5 seconds. Is that even possible? I know my SSD is superfast but this looks like a magic, altough I don't believe in that.

No, that's after reboot. Waking it up from "suspend to RAM" happens a lot faster than that.

Well, to be fair, here's the results from my i7 2.7GHz-based 2011 MacBook Pro:

Code: Select all

Startup finished in 15.421s (kernel) + 16.592s (userspace) = 32.013s
graphical.target reached after 3.059s in userspace
I'm using a Samsung SSD, and needless to say the performance difference from just that alone is beyond night and day.
