Voice Control in Linux vs. Smart Home Speaker

Post by alexa9 »

Has anyone used voice control in Mint? The only place I've seen a microphone icon is the google homepage. I know there is an assistant like Google/Siri/Alexa but I've heard mixed reviews. I'd like to say
"Hey Linux, Play Jazz Music in Rhythmbox"
"Hey Linux, Open Up Netflix/Spotify/Youtube"
I know my computer is much more capable than these smart home boxes but voice control doesn't seem to be there yet. If it's not easily possible, not a huge deal but it would be a fun feature.

I see MyCroft and Jasper as options. Also Speechnotes.
