+1 for Isabella: Reminds me of a certain pretty girl; my favorite Castilian monarch; and it certainly is a beautiful name.

+1 for Indira: Time to give Mint a more Asian/Indian flavor :); a memorable Indian stateswoman; shorter than Isabella.

+1 for Irina/Irena: Reminds me of sexy Slavic seductresses (haha, it really is a sexy name); time to give Mint a more Uralic flavor :); even shorter to type than Indira.

+1 to Imelda: Even with the infamous Mrs.Marcos association I like the name.

Having read and checked out all the suggestions posted.

My vote would be for: Isabella

I like the sound of that: LinuxMint-8 Isabella

"Ia". Greek in origin, means "voice" or "shout". Pretty darned concise, too. Would need the right font to look good.

Col. Schell: Variety is the spice of life. She'll understand.

Helena will wish us well, on our journey, same as Gloria will do, when the time comes.

If a name has not been chosen Ilucifera or Ilba would be good.

Not Isabella please! It reminds me of my boss.

How about India ?
I like Imelda.
Isolda.
Idea.
iLiana
Imbruglia

We should remember that some names or words sometimes means different things in some languages or are pronounced in a way that doesn't sound good... For example Ida in spanish doesn't sound interesting, and in fact means something like "going".

Illyria

Illyria is the original Greek for the city of Troy, from which the name 'Iliad' comes. 'Iliad' was the prequel to the more famous 'Odyssey', and describes the Trojan War, including the conquest of the Greeks over Troy. ('Odyssey' describes the journey of a Greek soldier returning home from Troy after the war).

Illyria is a particularly well suited name, as Helena, the name for LM8, was the Greek princess kidnapped by the Trojans which sparked the war in the first place.

Hey look at him! I'll never live that way.
But that's okay -
They're just afraid to change.
