I have been testing and tinkering a few things with Linux Mint since installing it, and here my first question:
I had installed Steam briefly on the machine, it downloaded a bunch of updates worth about 280MB or so. I then un-installed the application but noticed that the disc space Steam had used still appeared to be in use, even after a reboot.
Is there a load of gunk sitting in a cache somewhere that I can clear?

Re: Query on storage space
Depends on what variant you installed. I think the flatpak goes somewhere into
~/.var/app
by default, the regular install will create ~/.steam
. Ctrl+H to toggle display of hidden folders like these in your file browser.
