Im using a win 10 machine and one Linux mint machine is there a way to see files on both machines.

You are talking about networking both machines and, yes, it is possible. You will have to enable file sharing on both machines. Often all that is required is right clicking on a file and setting the sharing options in the Windows machine, but, there Windows does tend to arbitrarily change permissions with updates so be aware of that. (can't recall what now, as I no longer run Windwoes.) In Linux it is just a manner of right clicking on a file/folder (installing Samba if prompted), setting the permissions and enabling sharing.
