[SOLVED]Update Manager is not working

Post by Abinash »

[SOLVED]After using LinuxMint for about one month, today I updated the Update Manager from its GUI. After that it's not working any more. When ever I'm trying to click on the logo, it disappers and does not load. Without the Upload Manager I'm not able to upgrade to Version 19.3. Kindly help.

Does it open from the application menu? i.e., Administration > Update Manager.

Try entering mintupdate in the terminal.

Well, that appears to be why Update Manager won't execute, but I don't know what that means exactly. :?

You have tried just rebooting, correct?

You can also try doing a upgrade from the terminal to see if that fixes anything. apt update will update your package lists, and thereafter apt upgrade will upgrade anything that's available to do so.

That shows that you have nothing available for upgrade, which may not be unusual. What's interesting is that your attempt to reinstall mintupdate shows that it cannot be downloaded.

What version of Linux Mint are you using? People may want to see the details of your system, so you should post the output of inxi -Fxz here between code tags (highlight that output here, then use the </> button).

Do you still get that weird error when running mintupdate in the terminal? And have you rebooted since this all began?
