Just upgraded my system last night. I did everything following the detailed, clear instructions (https://linuxmint-user-guide.readthedoc ... nt-20.html), including the optional steps of "Purge PPAs and 3rd party repositories." No glitches at all.
My setup is noticeably faster than before - not that I was complaining, mind you. Thank you the development team for providing us with such a great product.
