My laptop is going to be happy for what I am doing!
The day for me has come! I've tested LM for a month now, no issues, apart from small but easy to fix with having an Ubuntu, and LM answers as well! It has come, I will now completely get rid of Windoze and use the whole disk for LM.
My system has gone SIGNIFICANTLY faster using LM than Windoze. Learning on the way was not that hard, and not that easy. As a teenager, I really like this! It gives some school feeling! But, I can't run some of my games, but no problem with that as my parents are giving me a new System.
Now, with LM in complete control in my system now, I am proud!
Sorry for the drama! Just proud that I survived with Linux and it wasn't that hard.

Y'know, I could have sworn that was an exorcism I heard coming from your general direction!
To quote old Obiwan Kenobi, “You've taken your first step into a much larger world.”

In other words, no more swearing at it!

Re: My laptop is going to be happy for what I am doing!
Congrats! I can definitely relate to you on this. I dual-booted for a few years, but maybe 5 or so years ago I realized that I never used the Windows boot anymore. I just preferred using Linux. So I reformatted my drive to get rid of Windows. I sure don't miss Windows at all. The other day I had to work on a Windows computer and it reminded me of how much I don't care to use it. No OS is perfect, but Mint has been a joy to use (and I have far fewer headaches than when I used to use Windows).
Anyway, congratulations!!!
Anyway, congratulations!!!

Thanks! I'm planning to slap into some money and upgrade my kinda old pc here and install either Arch or LM. When I say old, it's at LGA775, and pretty decent enough for me. Just needs i gigantic swapfile for my 2GB ram.

Unfortunately that won't help much (I did that with my netbook). Once swap usage gets beyond about 3GB your system will crawl along. I see there are a number of variants but it looks like it'll take 4GB? That would really help.

If that's the case, I think he'll get Arch, instead of LM.

Re: My laptop is going to be happy for what I am doing!
Arch can definitely be set up as a much leaner system but with 2GB RAM it will still get swamped with even moderate browser usage, or GIMP or whatever. It's well worth increasing the available RAM if you can.

I'll try, it's a little rare to find some DDR2 ram here.

There are people who talk to animals, others talk to the dead, you seem to talk to the laptop.
2GB ddr2 modules here are easy to find and inexpensive. Ddr2 modules over 2GB are expensive, not worth it.
