Thank you Linux Mint team.
Well I'm here as a 25+ year UNIX/Linux veteran, returning to Linux as my main OS again. Have been running Ubuntu Mate, Arch, Debian and many other distros. But due to [work reasons] i had to switch to Windows for a couple of years. When returning i realized that distributions done really matter, not even for a PowerUser. So i chose to just do LinuxMint, as stuff just works out the box.
Well I do have a multi monitor setup, and chose to run plain Cinnamon edition. Identifying that Mint per default spread the workplace across both monitors (so CTRL+ALT+LEFT/RIGHT switches the content of both screen at once going from Workplace1->Workplace2 etc etc.
Typical me, diving into the rabbit hole (based on my work customizing ARCH) to try and place Workplace1 on monitor#1 and Workplace2 on monitor#2 - for the purpose of being able to snap windows across from one monitor to the second monitor, snap to edges etc via keyboard shortcuts. I was aware of the Super+left/right/up/down to snap to sides on the current monitor.
4 hours pass, diving into Xorg config tweaks.....before it dawn on me. Maybe this is already a thing in Mint (just like everything else works out of the box). Looking into the default keyboard shortcurts. There right in front of me.....Windows->Inter-monitor - Mint have this setup already by default (Naturally - how dumb could i be).
Shift+Super+Left/Right/up/Down BANG! moved selected windows between monitors.
THIS - This is why i love Mint. People saying Mint is for newbies - sure its good for new users, but i can attest to this is also a PowerUsers dream.
Way to go Team - im a fan

Re: Just plain Greatness
I'm really in the fence when it comes to describing myself as a power user. Classically and traditionally, I'd say I was, particularly where Classic Mac OS and oldest versions of Windows are concerned. However, I'm really not where GNU+Linux is concerned. I'm simply a highly experienced technology enthusiast. In a way, I almost feel like an observer.
There's any number of people here on LMF who seem almost like gods to me where their knowledge of GNU+Linux in general, and Linux Mint/Ubuntu in particular are concerned.

some of us, are just using an Plain 'ol Laptop.
there have been folks, that have asked about using Multi_Monitors,
as one example . .
so .. how did you do that you may not think, that was great example, but .. others will. . .
- - getting those Monitors working .. so that the CTRL+ALT+LEFT/RIGHT switches the workspaces . .
that type of stuff . . it may not seem much, but that sort of thing, will help others out.

You're on the fence. Being in the fence would be very painful. Think of it like being in a car (IE: sat in-front of the steering wheel) or sat on top of a wall. I know prepositions are a pain in the behind, which is why I posted this in hopes it'd help.

No, I'm in the fence because it's a pain that's skewered my heart!Termy wrote: ⤴Sat Mar 20, 2021 11:33 amYou're on the fence. Being in the fence would be very painful. Or, to put it another way:
A rabbit, a Priest, and a Minister walk into a bar.
The bartender asks the rabbit, “So, what'll ya have?”
“Oh, nothing for me, thanks,” replies the rabbit. “I'm only here because of autocorrect.”
