So, I ran GParted from the live boot, and it still didn't see the hard drive. Then I opened a terminal window and ran fdisk -l, with the same results. I have installed Mint 20 and 20.1 many times on a lot of machines.and never had a problem,. I'm hoping this was just an isolated incident, and really don't have a compelling reason to move to 20.2 when it is released, but will download the iso image and burn it to a USB stick. If that doesn't work, I'll burn a DVD and try it that way.
