Mint 20.2 beta doesn't see hard drive

Post by tgwilt »

Well, I have downloaded both Cinnamon and Mate, then burned each image to a 32 G SanDisk USB stick. I had planned to install 20.2 alongside 20.1 and check out the new system. Unfortunately, the installer for either Mate or Cinnamon did not see the hard drive at all. The only drive it saw was the install stick!
So, I ran GParted from the live boot, and it still didn't see the hard drive. Then I opened a terminal window and ran fdisk -l, with the same results. I have installed Mint 20 and 20.1 many times on a lot of machines.and never had a problem,. I'm hoping this was just an isolated incident, and really don't have a compelling reason to move to 20.2 when it is released, but will download the iso image and burn it to a USB stick. If that doesn't work, I'll burn a DVD and try it that way.

Here is the output of inxi -Fzzzz

Thanks for the pointer. I will wait to see if the release works.

FYI, perhaps a more positive tone would be a good thing. I hardly ever ask for help here and to be treated like a brain damaged flatworm is one of the reasons why I don't bother. I usually just use a search engine and find information that way.

Bye forums,
