Comparing LM 20.2 Ubuntu 21.10

Since LM is based on Ubuntu I decided to try Ubuntu 21.10 for a comparison. I installed it as a dual boot with LM 20.1 and my initial reaction is not favorable towards Ubuntu.
It is significantly slower starting up and also much slower on loading aps such as Firefox or LibreOffice. Granted this is only a Beta version, the supported version will come out in the spring of 2022, but still!

What desktop environments did you use? That can make a significant difference.

Actually it was LM 20.2 Cinamon.

Did you compare using STOCK aka Vanilla Ubuntu 21.10 ..or Mate of Ubuntu 21.10??

Not defending Ubuntu here, but old_noob makes a reasonable point here.

Have to check, I believe it was whatever came with Ubuntu 21.10 as an environment.

That's vanilla Ubuntu then.

If I'm not mistaken Pop OS and Fedora also run vanilla Gnome as their stock OOTB desktop environments.

Well, I am not going to spend a lot of time and effort on tuning it. Just wanted to check it out to see how it compares to LM 20.2. Thanks for the info.
