after trying hard to make Fedora work on my laptop, i'm glad i investigated Linux Mint.

That is really good to hear - I have had the same experience with several laptops notably Lenovo.
If not too much to ask . . . . like ivar I am curious what lap top you are running Mint with. Anyway welcome.
