Re: What music player do you use on linux?
Aqualung.
It actually has better and cleaner sound quality than any other player on linux.
I have done a sort of A/B comparison at loud volumes - and all players except aqualung seemed to show some added harmonic content (especially audible in bass).

I use Exaile. Rhythmbox has more features, but I find that Exaile does everything I need.
Re: What music player do you use on linux?
Same here. I'm using Decibel or Clementine.linuxviolin wrote:Personally, I hate the "music collection players"! Really! I'm big enough and smart to properly organize my Music folder, also to tag correctly my files etc. I use just a simple music player like AlsaPlayer or Audacious.
Re: What music player do you use on linux?
QMMP - since I gotten used to Winamp's interface. (was suppose to use Audacious but there seems to be bugs when selecting and adding multiple files ((adds only the 1st file but multiple times)
Exaile - For album art support playback

Re: What music player do you use on linux?
Exaile, mostly i'm listening to shoutcast radio
Re: What music player do you use on linux?
After trying a few music players, i ended up with Guayadeque + Exaile. Almost identical as radio players, each one of them has it's own pro's.
Parole is a good underdog: fast, light, simple, just playing songs.
Jajuk is powerful but i do not recommend it cause it uses tons of cpu (java 's running)
For KDE, Amarok seems really good.

not using any media library manager, VLC has proven to me to be good, it plays almost everything, has simple interface (and is skinnable) etc., you know it

moc, xmms and goggles music manager in that order.
Re: What music player do you use on linux?
Thanks for the tip !Eon:I mean, EasyTAG is such a nice tool, so you might want to install it.
Re: What music player do you use on linux?
I use "Banshee" personally, has Mp3 ripping (with correct codecs installed) can't fault it myself I prefer it to Rhythmnbox which i always remove following a fresh install. I also use "Easytag" for ID3 tagging and "GIMP" for resizing album art.
Re: What music player do you use on linux?
I like Banshee the most, but for some reason I always end up with about 500 "unknown" songs whenever I introduce it to my library. Rhythmbox figures everything out straight away, so while it's not quite as slick I'm sticking with that for now.

Re: What music player do you use on linux?
Tried it a bit but i found it difficult to navigate (2 screens as i can remember) and difficult to manage my music collection -thus i cannot be of any help regarding this player.Has anybody else tried gmusicbrowser?
My conclusion, after testing almost any mplayer in Synaptic is this: if you know what are you looking for, it is relatively easy to find the mplayer that fits to your needs.
Re: What music player do you use on linux?
Rhythmbox (with plugins for last.fm auto queue playlist and shoutcast) - because it just works
Guayadeque - because it has some nice features and a light footprint
