Re: The unofficial LMDE KDE UP5 [UPDATE: 16/10/2012]
Hello everyone,
I've got small question
I want to get Debian Testing distro on m notebook. I wonder how does it work when I put Debian Testing repo to sources.list afer instalation of LMDE Kde and invoke apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade.
Did anybody try it ?

First of all: welcome to the Linux Mint forum.tloszabno wrote:Hello everyone,

You can post your future question in the LMDE KDE UP6 thread: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=121058
I always test the unofficial LMDE KDE with Debian testing repositories before I post the iso's.
If you downloaded the UP6 iso from the above mentioned link, you won't find many differences with the Debian testing repositories.
You can always try it out first in Virtualbox.
Edit your sources.list:
Code: Select all
echo "deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import" > /etc/apt/sources.list
echo "deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
echo "deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
echo "deb http://www.deb-multimedia.org testing main non-free" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
