I have installed Fedora 18 Spherical Cow on My Dell Inspiron i3. The first thing I noticed is the absence of window controls. You can't actually minimize windows only through keyboard shortcuts. The system gets stuck sometimes and freezes on me. And here is the moment of true; i tried to install cinnamon with the terminal then tried to log out. But hey no logout either  Tried to reboot and had to wait for a while only to get an authentication box so that I can perform the reboot which I did. But then again and much to my surprise there was no cinnamon at login screen which looks archaic by the way. I logged in and the spherical cow got mad and started to hiccup and died on me. I couldn't move anything! total freeze-up  . This cow is dead by tomorrow I'm reinstalling Mate tomorrow alongside cinnamon which i'm on right now :D :D
Final judgement: Fedora is a mad cow and a total mess and doesn't stand a chance against Big Mint

F18 GNOME looks great here. And I have window control buttons: Tweak Tool > Shell > Arrangement of buttons on the title bar. Then choose between "Close," "Maximize and Close," "Minimize and Close," or "All." Simple.

Haven't tried to install Cinnamon (haven't needed to), so I can't speak about that.

Of course, it's Fedora, so use it on a production machine at your own risk. But I'm not seeing the "buggy buggy buggy" stuff here. Running it on an old Dell Dimension 8400 pc.

My impression with Fedora 18, as I had mentioned in the post with I opened and talked about it, is that it works right or wrong according to the desktop using. If you are using Fedora 18 with Gnome or XFCE really it's a bad experience, has a poor performance with these two desks, especially with XFCE.....

But if you use Fedora 18 with KDE or LXDE desktop experience there is really very good, almost excellent. Go you, to know why, but if they are looking for a very good experience with Fedora 18, I strongly recommend using KDE or LXDE .... Best regards.-

Weird enough. A friend runs Fedora with Cinnamon and had no problems whatsoever.

I have the modest hope that the upcoming Fedora 19 will bring how to Cinnamon the default desktop. I think Gnome 3 is so disgusting that do not give more, in what is personal and I do not test or release distributions which bring Gnome 3 desktop how. I feel really bad, now with Cinnamon gives me the impression that can give new life to Fedora. Hopefully !! Greetings.-

Iam using fedora 18 with cinnamon and with the exception of the installer needing more work and turning selinux off its a nice smooth operating daily distro.

Not so well. It is true that the latest Fedora 18 with Gnome 3 really sucks, and it is also true that the XFCE version looks pretty careless. as I mentioned above. But if you install Fedora 18 with KDE or LXDE, it really works very well .... I imagine that Fedora 19 will correct many of the problems that brought the latter ....
