I love Ubuntu and I love what it has done but this is not entirely unsurprising to me. They have a very fine line they need to walk so as not to add to many features to bog the thing down. It's already "slow" enough that it raises the ire of some in the Linux community.
Still, it runs faster and works better then Windows so I'm not going to complain to much.
