Well... it was not so long ago that 'my'country was ranked number 1 for corruption in the world! It's not in the top 20 now so there is improvement.

However, it's going to take another generation to really clean up. The old elites are, that, old, but they haven't died off yet and, until they do, there can be no real change.

In the country I now live in as an ex-pat the police are totally unqualified - for anything.
Damn! Your police force makes mine look awesome. (Australia)

Wow I thought to many taxes was corrupt in my country it has nothing on yours.
Move to Canada at least the police aren't as corrupt (actually no where close to yours), you can live with some peace at least.
I was curious what country your in but by the sounds of things it's probably better you don't say.

To bad there is still a lot places around the world like that still, hopefully that'll change in the near future.

It's OK. I came here by choice! Fortunately, most people ignore the police and the police ignore them. As long as you pay up cheerfully when the police flag you down for some made up driving offense, (giving an extra tip helps) they are all smiles and send you on your way.

I have less troubles here than in the old country! I wasn't really complaining, just describing. I was just laying out how, in some countries - being in IT for the police means very little. The police in most Banana Republics operate like here.

I have a good life here and am in no rush to leave.
Honest.
