Options missed:

- It's much more stable than Windows.

- No MS Office, or any other malware (come to think about it).

I'm missing the option ' It runs better on older or low-spec hardware'.

All of the above. And more. I know two pastors that use Linux, and one of them has specifically said that he uses Linux because it would be inappropriate for a pastor to give money to an immoral company like Microsoft.

All above, plus ease of management - all you need is your favorite text editor - which makes also remote management a breeze, clear filesystem hierarchy.

Package management & software repositories?

Every other program on Windows seems to have its own updater with its own update frequency. And every program seems to come with a "next next okay next next done" type installer dialog that serves no purpose other than to nag the user. How can anybody go back to that 1990's way of doing things

Thanks for the input..
But the poll cannot contain all these factors.

Advantages of Linux over Windows in my opinion.
:::
Freedom, Freedom to select
Installing OS from scratch (Best Reason)
Booting in 3 sec / shutting down in 1
Using 10MB RAM (non-systemD)
Older computers have more chance to live even after 50 years.
Faster installing / update / upgrade / dist-upgrade (better transition passing from one version to another)
Conky
...and many other reasons mentioned above

Edit: Voted 3/4 (two at once) :)
- A violet in the youth of primy nature forward, not permanent, sweet, not lasting. The perfume and suppliance of a minute, No more... - Audiophile [24bit/96kHz], FLAC, DeaDBeeF. - Herbstluftwm Fist! - Root heritage #!

It is not necessary to restart Linux a hundred times, to clean every six months and to defragment XFS 8)

I voted for everything, but come to think of it there are a few (isolated) instances of a Linux distro spying on its users, like Red Star OS, the North Korean distro. :(
