Best feature is it's free and you can install the same ISO in as many computers as you want legally. That in itself is liberating.

The transition from Window to Linux may be hard for others, but not in my case. I have already been using open source apps way before even deciding to install Linux. Libre Office, Gimp, Inkscape, Blender, Krita, Scribus, etc., all of which have Windows versions. But nowadays I've just been browsing the internet using Firefox without installing any anti-virus.

...there are a few (isolated) instances of a Linux distro spying on its users, like Red Star OS, the North Korean distro.
Well...DUH! It's typical socialism.

From the linked article:
As we’ve covered before, North Korea has its own version of Linux called Red Star OS. A pair of German researchers have just given the code a once over — and as you’d expect, it’s locked down and oppressive, and worse than just a weaker version of other Linux distros. It’s geared toward enabling and maintaining a total surveillance state, all while giving the illusion of technological progress to its citizens.
The entire article is worth reading.

No, it is not. Many nations around the world have some form of democratic socialism, and the people seem to like it, from what I have seen. Like the Scandinavian countries, for example. I'm sure there are people on the forums that live in a socialist country; perhaps one of them would be kind enough to enlighten you. North Korea is not a socialist system. It's a totalitarian dictatorship, which has no connection to socialism. The Soviet Union also was not socialist, nor was the German government just before and during World War Two. But this is a conversation for Open Chat, or maybe not for anywhere on the Mint forums.

Sounds awfully like Windows 10.

A feature which I have found appealing is that if a Linux installation does crash, you can simply wipe it off your hard disk and install a free replacement.(I have had one serious crash when using Ubuntu which is why I am now using Mint).
