Dangit... accidentally updated Firefox and now nothing works right.

AND... Waterfox can't use my Morning Coffee add-on now, either. So, I can't get my daily dose of webcomics. :(
Try politeness; people will like you for it.

I am on current Firefox. I'm actually using more addons now that I see they're sticking around. Namely, I'm back on Disconnect and Decentraleyes. It seems way faster than it used to be, too. What's the problem again?

My problem would be not being able to group my tabs, therefore going back to the old way of manually sorting them .. a real pain when you have a lot of tabs open and much easier to categorize them. Also needing scripting knowledge to put the tabs back in the logical place i.e. above the active tab, not above the non-tab-specific tools.

More logical toolbar buttons would be nice too.

bother, I upgraded firefox and 57 broke every single addon I use, and the new greasemonkey broke every script I used. Sadly after many years of supporting netscape/mozilla I'm looking for alternatives. This thread has been very helpful.
I installed waterfox using the instructions from https://www.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comme ... inux_mint/

Code: Select all

echo "deb https://dl.bintray.com/hawkeye116477/waterfox-deb release main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/waterfox-release-hawkeye116477.list
curl https://hawkeye116477.github.io/waterfox-deb/hawkeye116477.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install waterfox

Just for completeness, here are the scores from http://www.speed-battle.com for the browsers I tested on my 18.3 system

1673.36 Waterfox 55
1633.74 Firefox 57
1459.04 PaleMoon 27.6.1
814.47 Chrome 62

So for me at least, RIP firefox, hello Waterfox!

Thank you! I'm using Waterfox now, and have deleted Firefox.
sudo apt-get remove firefox
Or: sudo apt-get --purge autoremove firefox
