Don't let the door hit you on the way back to your Windows prison. Myself, I have been tremendously pleased with the freedom of Linux and open source software for over 15 years now, and there is nothing that could get me to go back to the Microsoft junk.

If at some point in the future you decide you'd like to come back to the freedom of Linux, we will be happy to help you solve any problems you might have.

You are entitled to a full refund of the purchase price of Linux Mint. I bet you don't get such an offer from Microsoft.

I love what Linus Torvaldes said,
Computers are like air conditioners. Once you open Windows, they're useless.

Having a dual boot system on my desktop I guess I have experience of both Linux Mint (now on Sylvia 18.3) and Windows 10.
Far from a prison I find Linux a relaxation compared to Windows. Why is that? Well once a week I boot up Windows on the desktop and whilst windows goes through its long winded and frequent updates I usually just leave the pc for a while to do its updating. In comparison Linux updates, whilst often, are fast and do not load all sorts of apps and other unwanted bloatware that I do not want.
Furthermore there is no constant concern about scanning for viruses and making sure the a/v programme is a) working and b) up to date.
Now that is freedom, certainly no prison. Actually until I made the bold move to Linux I guess I was a prisoner of Windows as I had no alternatives.
