Thought it might be of interest to someone to try with Mint though i'm not sure how well a full linux desktop would run on the low end Chromebooks as some only have 2gb of ram.

as long as that Chromebook is using an Intel Processor,

I wrongly thought crouton was for any linux distro but looking at Google it seems to be for Ubuntu.
I'm pretty sure i've seen guides for installing Linux on Chromebooks in the past but they must have used some different type of Boot Strapping?
