Canonical official Tutorial: Install Ubuntu on a Chromebook

This was put out a couple of days ago.

Thought it might be of interest to someone to try with Mint though i'm not sure how well a full linux desktop would run on the low end Chromebooks as some only have 2gb of ram.

as long as that Chromebook is using an Intel Processor,
then there is also potential to use ./wine as well:

like the Canonical Announcement - - this stuff is still in it's infancy.

I wrongly thought crouton was for any linux distro but looking at Google it seems to be for Ubuntu.

I'm pretty sure i've seen guides for installing Linux on Chromebooks in the past but they must have used some different type of Boot Strapping?
