You do not have to speculate what your Linux Mint user account is. You can simply determine so beyond doubt.
Open a terminal window. Execute the command id It will tell you exactly what your loginname is and your group memberships.
This morning when I powered up my computer i see an another account on my machine with name fuse_abc which I can login using my main (abc) account password.
Where precisely could you spot this second account?

Regards,
Karl

Hello Guri Image

Welcome to Linux Mint and the Linux Mint forum :)

Each user account will have a home folder with their desktop preferences and personal files etc.

Can you paste back the results of ls -lhd /home/* so we can have a look.

Thanks a lot for your response..

***** I saw this duplicate account at the very start log screen.. The place where you click on your user name , and enter passwords

My question is about , why a suspicious account was created last night at 11.45PM.. by user fuse.. my machine was not even turned on at that time. Following are the time stemps on those files. .

Code: Select all

home $ ls -l
total 12
drwxr-xr-x 18 fuse fuse 4096 Mar 25 07:05 fuse
drwxr-xr-x 48 gbil gbil 4096 Mar 25 01:59 gbil
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Mar 18 2017 tools
home $ cd fuse
fuse $ ls
Desktop Documents Downloads Music Pictures Public Templates Videos
fuse $ ls -lhd *
drwxr-xr-x 2 fuse fuse 4.0K Mar 24 23:45 Desktop
