A note of caution here! Whilst you,may be able to run older OSs on older hardware they should not be connected to the internet as they will be very insecure. Life can become very difficult if say your e-mail is hacked and extremely difficult if your bank account has been hacked...

You also cannot expect newer software versions to run on old Linux versions with deprecated libraries etc in Linux.
