Grub 2.0 memtest is missing

Post by deepakdeshp » Fri Aug 09, 2019 5:19 am

Hello,
memtest option is missing from grub. I have a triple boot Manjaro being the grub controlling os. What else could I do to get memtest option?

This is the Linux Mint forum, you should ask this on the Manjaro forums. I could throw a wild guess that you have got the non-EFI version of memtest86 installed and are booting in EFI mode or the other way around but I don't have Manjaro so I don't know what they pre-install.

Thanks for the reply. This is a general Grub 2.0 question. memtest.bin is installed in /boot.

No, it's not. memtest.bin is not part of any version of grub. This is a distribution-specific question depending on what kind of memtest binary Manjaro distributes (and possibly on the distribution-specific version of GRUB in Manjaro, but I doubt it). I told you all that I can tell you about it without knowing specifics about Manjaro, which I do not.
