Firefox is remembering the Zoom Ratio for my different websites

Post by AZgl1500 »

Don't know when this first started up, but I don't recall it happening in Win10, which is what this laptop had on it until about 3 weeks ago.

Now that I have it running under 19.3 beta Cinnamon, I got to noticing that when I visit here on this forum it goes to 203% zoom so that I can read the text.

the laptop has a 17" screen with HiDPI, which makes the standard 8pt fonts so tiny, as to be invisible.

So, I was having to adjust the zoom ratio on different websites so that I could read the text at the "same size" displayed to me.

FF 69, 70, and 71 all seem to be doing it.

For the most part, I access all of my favorite sites thru the "new Tab" which remembers 4 lines full of icons/websites. I have looked at the links there, and I can't see anything other than the link address.

Any thoughts on what is controlling this "history" for font sizes?

some functionality is just that. my chrome remembers zoom. here at mint i use 125% plus i have a zoom ratio for the browser itself through menu entry. only way to kill that history is to reset zoom. haven't used firefox in quite a while, but i'm not worried about chrome keeping the same zoom for my sites i wish to zoom.

Whether or not site specific zoom is retained between sessions in firefox will depend on

1) Whether or not site preferences is checked to be cleaned when history is cleaned (off by default)

&

2) Whether or not history set to be cleaned every-time you close the the session (off by default)
For custom Nemo actions, useful scripts for the Cinnamon desktop, and Cinnamox themes visit my Github pages.

I don't clear that out, too much trouble for me every time I got back to a website.
lost logins, etc...

I clear history, but not site preferences and site zoom is always remembered in firefox. Has been this way for seems like years.
