clementine 1.4.0 RC1

Post by cpedretti »

After researching a better music library manager that is more complete than rhythmbox, I came across this info, clementine is in development again since January 02, 2020.

Since the resumption of development, there have been more than 461 pre-releases, have been able to test the latest one, not bad at all :)

Here the clementine GitHub link => https://github.com/clementine-player/Cl ... e/releases

While waiting for its stable version I switched to strawberry => https://www.strawberrymusicplayer.org/

These prereleases are not all the same stable. 350 and 365 worked fine on my tests
The nice thing is that projectm visualizations work on these prereleases unlike the version available on repositories.

I like both Strawberry and Audacious. There's a PPA available for the latest release.

I use Audacious almost always, it does what I need and it's fast. Have Clementine installed but it just sits there.

Strawberry is probably a good alternative but haven'\t tried it. There's just not a hope in hell I'm going to use RC1 level app software. No program is that good.

Strawberry is available as an AppImage. IIRC, you avoid AppImages, but it is a low-impact way to take it for a test drive.

It's Clementine that's RC1, not Strawberry. I don't minf appimaes, I use the avidemux one.
