What is te best driver for Realtek 8821CE chip?

Post by TD15 »

Hello there everyone, I have a laptop (HP 15 da-1071ne) that has Realtek 8821CE wifi+bluetooth chip. It has no driver in the 5.4 kernel and the driver present in 5.9 kernel is broken (as I read somewhere). Does anyone knows what is the best driver for this chip to use via DKMS?

I already tried the one in the Ubuntu repos, it works well but has no bluetooth. There are various ones on github like https://github.com/tomaspinho/rtl8821ce
This one requires disabling PCIe ASPM which will probably increase power draw. So do you have any suggestions?

I will look into it, thanks.
I will probably stick to the DKMS version if the others have nothing special over the DKMS.

Are the 5.9 kernels still supported? I know the upstream 5.9 is no longer supported and I don't think Mint 20 has it available. I don't know what kernel Mint Debian is using
