I've been trying to install Arch Linux to replace my current Linux Mint installation but have no idea how. Does anyone know how?

Re: Installing different Linux distro to replace Linux Mint
Hi, kz0.
Funny idea to register in the Linux Mint forum for the sole puprpose of asking how to replace Linux Mint by Arch Linux.
Would you not better ask this question in the Arch Linux user forum?
Anyway.
You boot your machine from the Arch Linux live system and delete the existing disk partitions, which were used for Linux Mint.
Then you install Arch Linux by following their installation instruction.
Good luck.

Karl

I can only think of one worse Linux distro for a beginner than Arch and that's Gentoo.

Why would you want to replace an excellent distro with a mediocre one.?
Re: Installing different Linux distro to replace Linux Mint
I'm pretty sure it's not a "live system", at least not graphical.
Arch "Installation guide"

In section "Install essential packages", if you're using wifi make sure you install the wifi stuff (e.g. "network manager"); if you forget you can boot the installer and
pacstrap
again with the installer connected to the internet. Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!

Hi, Flemur.
Shall I assume that Arch Linux does not have a bootable fully functional live & installation system like Ubuntu, Linux Mint, MX Linux and many more distributions have? What an outrageous idea!
