MX Install without GRUB

Post by Johnste »

Your MX Snapshot tool has always been appreciated, however, after I created, and booted from a USB stick, the installer insisted it was going to install GRUB on SDB2, which is the very stick I booted from, which has no SDB2 ! There was no option NOT to install GRUB . I'm trying to install to an MBR HDD which already has Win 10. ... In previous versions of the installer, I have always installed GRUB manually, after install on the usual SDA.

MX-Linux can actually be Installed into an partition,
& without Installing it's Grub Boot Loader . .
:)

you then simply redo the Grub Boot Loader of the other Linux System,
but not as easy, with any Windows System.

Sorry I though you need a boot loader to boot up to your system or if won't boot.

YES - - that is correct
:)
you would also need another system, to be Installed,
in order for the machine to be Bootable, of course.

I am not quite sure why Pierre has not mentioned so, but:
This is the Linux Mint user forum, not the MX Linux forum. As a consequence the MX snapshot tool is not "our" MX Snapshot tool.
You might consider asking in the MX Linux user forum perhaps.
