Crossover is the commercial version of wine - more tweaks to get more win stuff to run, a lot easier to use than wine, plus their tech support is okay. I've been using it for several years and I paid the full price, £48. So £12 is a real bargain.

Re: Crossover
£12 would be a bargain, (for anyone having a need for it) but, that link is showing me $499.95 US for lifetime, or $59.95 US for one year ?
Without exact math, that's over 3 times (yearly) what they are offering it to you for, so is it "maybe" a special only for current customers ?

it should be $59.95USD for the one year.
- it's Not an annual licence, as is commonly thought -
thus, you would only have to purchase that one licence,
unless you need to upgrade to an later version .. then another licence is needed.
there does seem to be an number of forum users that are using this program.

Re: Crossover
Maybe it is just a 'special' for current customers, there is a promo code: Somethings are always too good to be true - I have no need, happy with Crossover 18, later versions require me to re-register office2013 (which I'm loathe to do as I think I've used up all my licences).rickNS wrote: ⤴Mon Nov 29, 2021 8:49 am £12 would be a bargain, (for anyone having a need for it) but, that link is showing me $499.95 US for lifetime, or $59.95 US for one year ?

Re: Crossover
Customers are paying for the app and supporting Wine project, so IMO it should support both macOS and Linux platforms.
Also, I think we need more info about some key software as Adobe Creative Cloud. A Dreamweaver or Illustrator in the portfolio will motivate those guys to join Linux + Crossover solution.

Re: Crossover
I just looked at that in my email inbox, and it showed $499.00 US lifetime
$14.99 for 1 year....
I think I will do it just once, but I am not getting as much use of CrossOver as I had anticipated

Re: Crossover
Codeweavers maintain a compatibility database of what works and what doesn't, generally anything adobe doesn't, e.g. acrobat:particlefeever wrote: ⤴Mon Nov 29, 2021 7:31 pm Also, I think we need more info about some key software as Adobe Creative Cloud. that is an Great Price .. it's normally is discounted to $29.95USD
it is worth supporting them, considering the amount of support,
that they give back to the ./wine community.

Re: Crossover
Thank you for the notice on this. I purchased a license for myself to test out on some proprietary software used at work I could never get running on Linux. Great deal in my honest opinion. You get a year of support and free upgrades but the license never expires.

Re: Crossover
I couldn't take the opportunity, I am already in a difficult time and... there is a leak of water from my apartment to the neighbor below... simple material difficult of life against virtual desires - but the money is one only. So I will have to go on with the unsupported version for a while.
I read an article explaining that Codeweavers is focused in games, and I can see it. The games I have tested have an impressive performance. I am playing Fallout New Vegans in an old Macbook with Intel HD 4000 and there is almost no difference from pure Windows. There is some sound glitches but also there is NOT a video glitch in pure Windows that was unstable FPS - means video performance seems better.
Also I'm divided, part of me wishes Adobe and MS software running good in crossover, and another one wish the evolution of the alternatives to the point we don't need those brands anymore.
