Unable to change any icon on the panel (Cinnamon on ArchLinux)

Post by Valsodar »

I had to reinstall Arch and now I can't change any icon on the panel bc there's this "loading" inscription at the bottom of the "icon selection" window and all of my custom icons never show up. For the most part I changed them manually by editing the .desktop files. But I have no idea where the .desktop file is for the Menu itself, so that I can change that icon too.

So, if you can tell me how to fix this:

Or you can tell me where the .desktop file for the cinnamon-menu applet is stored and maybe even its name?

I tried even with downgrading the entire desktop env. to 5.2.7 but nothing fixed it - both 5.2.7 and 5.4.x do this "loading" thing at the "icon selection" window.

I made a video for a better explanation:
