That's a mainline kernel. Linux Mint does not come with mainline kernels although there might be some people who use them with Linux Mint. Additionally, it sounds like the bug is not affecting all users.

Will move this to Chat about Linux since this affects more distros than just Linux Mint.

Intel laptop users running Linux are being advised to avoid running the latest Linux 5.19.12 stable kernel point release as it can potentially damage your display.

Intel Linux laptop users on Linux 5.19.12 have begun reporting "white flashing" display issues with one user describing it as "[the] laptop display starts to blink like lights in a 90's rave party."

Intel Linux kernel engineer Ville Syrjäl posted today on the kernel mailing list:

After looking at some logs we do end up with potentially bogus panel power sequencing delays, which may harm the LCD panel.

Greg, I recommend immediate revert of this stuff, and new stable release ASAP. Plus a recommendation that no one using laptops with Intel GPUs run 5.19.12.

Greg Kroah-Hartman has immediately released Linux 5.19.13 with the problematic Intel graphics driver patches reverted.

Greg commented, "This release is to resolve a regression on some Intel graphics systems that had problems with 5.19.12. If you do not have this problem with 5.19.12, there is no need to upgrade."

Close to zero chance somebody here installed 5.19.12 mainline to affected notebook. Moreover, Ubuntu mainline build of 5.19.12 for amd64 failed as often is the cause recently: kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.19.12/amd64 so no installation candidate.
I have installed by default 5.19.0-15 in Ubuntu 22.10 now but it is hard to find how it is mapped to mainline exactly.

It might be worth mentioning that mainline kernel 5.19.13 has been released by now.
K5.19.13 reverts the Intel graphics kernel driver module to the previous version, thus eliminating the dangerous problem.
Just for those forum users, who did not read the linked Phronix article from top to bottom completely.

Good to know. I had the flashing light thing on the POP!_OS Darter Pro, and I have updated to 5.19.13 with the problem going away.

I merged them. You and t42 specifically mention parts of the issue in your posts that others may find helpful.
