I remember one such distro from BitDefender ... I don't know any URL though, you will unfortunately have to Google for it.

Another idea: It's possible to create a Live CD out of Windows. The project is called "Bart PE". Again, you will have to use Google here. With the "Bart PE" software I was able to build a Windows XP live CD with the "Avast!" anti-virus package on it (you can add additional stuff to the live CD's environment at creation time). And everything is "point and click", so it's not too hard. So if you can't find a reasonably recent Linux live distro with anti-virus software on it you could give "Bart PE" a try.

Hope this was somewhat helpful

Yes, LinuxDefender Live! at http://www.bitdefender.com/site/LinuxDe ... rrors.html
but I guess there is no updates since 11-Jun-2004...

On a french forum , http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=1405, we can read: "Une nouvelle version de LinuxDefender, n'utilisant plus Captive, sera disponible cet été." (A new version of LinuxDefender, not using more Captive, will be available this summer.) So wait and see.

Err... as a newbie to Linux, do I need these things for security? or will any LiveCD suffice?
