I always liked that video. If you want to know some more about the history of GNU specifically I can recommend the book Free as in Freedom. It is mainly about Richard Stallman but also gives quite a good image about the early days of GNU/Linux and the vieuws of people like him and maybe a bit better understanding in the way the FSF does their work.
