cut/copy then paste lost problem

Post by Blazing Teens »

Hi,
In this topic , there is a problem I found it in every gnu/linux distro I tried.
When I cut or copy text from an app (Firefox for example), then I close it, then I can't paste the text , which means the text lost.
What I want to ask>Is the problem in linux kernel ? or X Windows System ? or anything else ?

I have the Clipman clip manager panel applet autostarting in Mint Xfce and don't have your problem. Image

As above. In linux, the clipboard is cleared when you close the application you copied from. If you have a clipboard manager installed you can circumvent this behaviour. Kde comes with klipper as standard but you will have to instal something like parcellite or clipit in other desktop environments.
