Can't wait! Some reports say that most of the graphics problems on my laptop are solved in that version.

It's "early" ... Ubuntu-11.10 Ocelot wasn't due for release until the 29th of Oct.

The Canonical/Ubuntu Dev Team must think it is stable enough, and ready, for public release.

I've been using it all afternoon on my old 2005 HP laptop. It installed flawlessly, and no problems since.

There's a nice user friendly update to the Ubuntu installer. The partition screen informed me that my computer "contained Windows XP and Ubuntu 10.10", and gave me four "radio button" options:

-- Replace Ubuntu 10.10 with 11.10. Warning, this will erase your files and installed programs. Backup everything you need to save.

-- Upgrade Ubuntu 10.10 to 11.10. This will save your personal files and most settings and programs, but some programs may need to be reinstalled.
(This was the default option.)

-- Install Ubuntu 11.10 on the entire drive. Warning: this will erase everything you have in Windows XP.

-- Manual install Ubuntu. Partition drive. Recommended for experts only.

This is a good step forward in making Linux a little more accessible to non experts.

It would be nice if someone confirms that problems with AMD APU Brazos platform are better supported now. Acer 722 (http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=82681).

I really like 11.04 and will install 11.10 a little later today. It's good to know they've worked on the installer. Thanks for that information.

The 11.10 installer is nice, and even takes your picture :-) that was a surprise.
