Linux Mint neben Windows installieren=> Option beim Installieren fehlt

Post by jip »

Guten Morgen,

I assume your are using Windows 10? If so, I found a detailed video on how to do this.
You can search for "How to Dual Boot Windows 10 and Linux Mint" or use this link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxepmtjmilQ

Should be similar to what you did for Ubuntu. At one time I had a multi-boot system with Windows, Ubuntu and Mint. At boot time, I could select the one I wanted to use.

I have since gone to Virtual Box (Windows host & Mint guest). This way I can have the best of both worlds with a single boot.

Thanks for the link. I would be happy if it would work with only 2 OS.

The point is that i have 500GB of space. 250 for windows and the other space for linux which is currently used by Ubuntu.
Therefore there is enough space for Mint!

I tried to install Mint but it doesn`t show up the option to intall Mint parallel to Windows.

I used my old Ubuntu trying to figure out if this option also doesn t show up. But it shows up. Therefore soemthing is wrong with Mint installation disc and I don`t want to risc my windows installation.

Have you verified the download? Mint should normally give you the option to 'install alongside', just like Ubuntu does.
