attivazione di un adattore wifi wireless per un vecchio pc
Buonasera a tutti, premetto che sono un neofita di Mint, e che mi sto approcciando solo da poco al mondo linux. Ho un problema credo abbastanza basilare che non sono riuscito a risolvere: ho installato Mint su un vecchio pc non dotato di scheda di rete wireless, su cui uso un adattatore usb wifi per potermi collegare alla rete quando uso windows, ma mint non riconosce il dispositivo; ho provato a risolvere cercando su internet ma non sono riuscito a venirne fuori, qualcuno sa come fare? Grazie in anticipo.

Mint 17.1 non è più supportato. Quindi, la prima cosa che dovresti fare è installare Mint 19.2 Xfce su quella macchina.

oltre al os, anche la parte hardware è piuttosto datata, non rischio di incontrare problemi durante l'aggiornamento?

Puoi provare una sessione live della 19.2 prima di installarla solo per vedere come funziona. Non credo che sarà un problema, 19.2 Xfce è il migliore per il vecchio hardware.
